Brooklyn + Jon tied the knot in front of so many friends and family back in September, but that doesn’t mean their dream winter elopement in the mountain couldn’t become a reality! I am a big fan of an adventurous bridal session the day (or months) after your big day! So often my couples are torn between a large wedding, surrounded by friends, family, and all of their loved ones, and an intimate elopement perfectly built for just the two of them. My answer to this troubling question… why choose when you can do both!?!
If you are every worried or fearful that your wedding day will just become an 8 hour photoshoot (well, don’t worry… that’s not how we do things here…) a Day After Session immediately relieves you of those worries because you know that you have carved out time with your NOW SPOUSE and your photographer, while not taking any time away from partying with your guests. Plus, YOU’RE ALREADY MARRIED!! So the pressure, the anxious butterflies, no need to worry because y’all did the damn thing! You said yes and forever to one another with everyone you love and care about watching, and now the celebration gets to continue!
Here are just a few ideas as to how to make your Day After Session even more special:
- Read traditional vows at your wedding ceremony and save the vows you wrote for one another to be shared in private.
- Set off on your dream honeymoon and have your photographer meet you there (umm….. YES PLEASE!!)
- Head to a spot that is so special and unique to you two and your relationship! So often we are on the hunt for our dream wedding venue that has enough room for our huge dance party (which I love!) that we loose a little bit of the about the emotion behind it.
- There is no wrong answers when planning a wedding – big or small, Day After Session or not! This is Y’ALLS day! If it’s important to you two, it’s important me and I want to be there to capture every second of it!
